What is Spicy Island 2027?
Spicy Island 2027 is a five day lifestyle island takeover in Croatia organised by SpicyMatch. The event takes over a private Adriatic island for an international community of lifestyle travellers, with accommodation, dining, pool and beach parties, entertainment and spaces to relax and socialise.
The 2027 event runs in two sessions: 27 June–1 July and 2–6 July and is a full island takeover!
We’ve Actually Been to Spicy Island
We attended Spicy Island in both 2023 and 2024, which means our recommendations are based on actually arriving on the island, staying there, eating there, partying there and experiencing the event ourselves.
There are things you can’t tell from a booking page what the atmosphere feels like during the day, how accommodation choices affect your experience, how easy it is to meet people, what the pool parties are really like and whether five days on an island feels relaxing or overwhelming.

Spicy Island Accommodation: Our Forest Lodge & Sun Lodge Review
We’ve stayed in two different accommodation styles at Spicy Island, so we can share what the rooms are actually like from a guest perspective not just what they look like in the booking photos.
Forest Lodge – Our 2023 Stay
In 2023, we stayed in a Forest Lodge right in the middle of the island, and for us it was a great balance between comfort and price.
We chose the Forest Lodge because it was a little more economical than the Sun Lodge options, while still giving us the things we cared about most: our own private bathroom and toilet, air conditioning, storage space, and a private balcony with chairs.
The setting was one of our favourite things about it. Surrounded by trees, the lodge felt like a little private oasis in the forest close enough to everything happening on the island, but tucked away enough that we could retreat and relax when we wanted a break from the action.
Inside, we also had a small fridge, which was perfect for keeping drinks cold or storing leftover pizza. And yes, the pizza on the island is actually very good.
But after the private bathroom, the feature we appreciated most was definitely the air conditioning. Croatia in summer gets hot, hot, hot, so having a cool room to come back to after a day at the pool or beach made a huge difference.
Best for: Couples who want privacy, their own bathroom and air conditioning without stepping up to the more premium accommodation options.

Sun Lodge Suite – Our 2024 Stay
For our 2024 trip, we switched things up and stayed in a Sun Lodge Suite closer to the main pool and buffet restaurant.
The biggest advantage was definitely the location.
We were much closer to the daytime pool activities, food and the main social area, which made it incredibly convenient during the day. The trade off is that the main nighttime party areas are deeper into the island, so you should still expect to do some walking once the evening gets going.
The Sun Lodge felt more polished and put together than the Forest Lodge, with a more premium finish overall. Ours still included the essentials we wouldn’t want to be without: a private bathroom, air conditioning, a deck with chairs, storage space and a lockable room.
For us, it felt like a noticeable step up in comfort while still keeping that relaxed island atmosphere.
If accommodation quality is an important part of your holiday, the Sun Lodge is likely worth considering.
Best for: Couples who want a more comfortable, premium stay and like being close to the pool, restaurant and daytime action.

Spicy Island takes place on a 136-acre private island off the Croatian coast in the Adriatic Sea, close to the Kornati Islands / Šibenik.
The island has kilometres of coastline, swimming areas, restaurants, bars, accommodation, party spaces and quieter forest and seaside areas.
This location is a big part of what makes the event different from a hotel or club takeover.
Yes. Spicy Island is designed as a private island takeover for the event community rather than a normal resort holiday shared with the general public.
That means the people you see at breakfast, around the pool, on the beaches and at the parties are part of the same event.
For us, this was one of the biggest differences between Spicy Island and simply visiting lifestyle clubs while travelling.

One advantage of a multi day event is that you keep seeing the same people at breakfast, around the pool and during the evening, so there is time to form connections naturally rather than feeling like everything has to happen in one night.

There is a full program of parties, entertainment and activities, but you’re also on a beautiful Croatian island with beaches, quiet areas and plenty of places to simply relax.
Some days we wanted to be right in the middle of everything; other times it was nice to disappear back to our accommodation or find a quiet spot by the sea. That freedom is one of the things we enjoyed about the event.

Different options provide different levels of space, privacy, facilities and proximity to the island’s main areas. We’ve personally stayed in both a Forest Lodge in 2023 and a Sun Lodge in 2024, so our accommodation recommendations on this page are based on actually staying in them rather than simply comparing booking descriptions.
Our Forest Lodge and Sun Lodge accommodation both had air conditioning, and for us it was one of the most important room features.
Croatia can get very hot during late June and July, and coming back to an air-conditioned room after hours around the pool or after a long night made a huge difference.
Daily buffet brunch and buffet dinner are included with the Spicy Island stay information provided for the event. Brunch runs from approximately 8:30 am until 12:00 pm, which works equally well if you’re an early riser or somebody who didn’t make it to bed until very late.
Dinner is served from approximately 7:00 pm until 9:30 pm, with different dishes offered throughout the event.
Spicy Island features a multi-day program that can include pool parties, beach parties, foam parties, themed nights, DJs, live performances, workshops, demonstrations and shows.
Yes. Spicy Island includes dedicated adult play spaces, including BDSM-themed rooms and other areas designed for consensual exploration.
These spaces are part of the wider lifestyle experience on the island and are intended for adults who want somewhere more private than the main social and party areas. As with every part of the event, participation is optional and consent is essential.
